DAT (Digital Asset Treasury)
A publicly listed company that holds a digital asset (Bitcoin or Ethereum) as its primary treasury reserve asset, similar to how traditional companies hold cash or bonds. The stock price is influenced by both the company's operations and the underlying crypto it holds.

ETH DATs
Companies that have adopted Ethereum (ETH) as their main treasury asset. SBET (SharpLink), BMNR (BitMine), and BTBT (Bit Digital) all hold significant ETH on their balance sheets. Investing in these gives indirect exposure to ETH through a regulated stock.

BTC DAT
Companies holding Bitcoin (BTC) as their primary treasury reserve. MSTR (Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy) is the largest and most well-known BTC treasury company, pioneering this strategy since 2020.

BTC Miners / AI & HPC Transition
Companies originally built to mine Bitcoin using specialised hardware. MARA and RIOT are now transitioning part of their infrastructure toward Artificial Intelligence (AI) and High Performance Computing (HPC) data centres, diversifying their revenue streams beyond crypto mining.

Alt L1 (Alternative Layer-1)
Native tokens of standalone smart-contract blockchains that are not treasury holdings of a listed company — held and traded directly as spot crypto rather than through an equity wrapper. SUI is tracked here as a direct spot position, priced live via CoinGecko.

Avg Cost (Average Cost Basis)
The weighted average price paid per share across all purchases. Used to calculate unrealized P&L. If you bought 10 shares at $5 and 10 more at $7, your avg cost is $6.

UP&L (Unrealized Profit & Loss)
The gain or loss on a position that has not yet been sold. Expressed here as a percentage: (Live Price − Avg Cost) ÷ Avg Cost × 100. It becomes "realized" only when the position is closed.

DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging)
An investment strategy of buying a fixed amount at regular intervals regardless of price, reducing the impact of volatility. All positions on this page are built using DCA.

XIRR (Extended Internal Rate of Return)
An annualised return metric that accounts for the exact timing and size of each cash flow. Unlike a simple P&L %, XIRR tells you what annual interest rate would produce the same result — making it comparable across positions held for different lengths of time. Particularly useful for DCA strategies where money is added at different dates.

CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate)
Similar to XIRR but assumes a single lump-sum investment at the start. Measures the steady annual growth rate needed to reach the final value. XIRR is more accurate for DCA positions; CAGR is useful for comparison with index benchmarks.
